Head Start in Kentucky

Head Start has a long and colorful history in Kentucky. From Parent-Child Centers, to WAVE I Head Start in 1965 all the way to the recent Early Head Start Expansion, Kentucky Head Start grantees have served the Commonwealth's at-risk families and helped their children achieve success in school and life.

For nearly thirty years, the Kentucky Head Start State Collaboration Office has assisted grantees by fostering collaboration with State and local partners. The Office is dedicated to the idea that Kentucky should lead the Region and the Nation as a provider of high quality care and learning to all children and families.
